AT 691 - Nutrition for Sport & Recreational Peformance


This course explores nutrition for health, performance, and injury management in athletic training. Students examine evidence-based strategies for body composition, strength, power, endurance, hydration, nutrient timing, recovery, and supplement use, with attention to safety, efficacy, and ethical considerations. Nutrition for special populations including youth, older adults, injured athletes, and individuals with medical or metabolic conditions is addressed. Practical application emphasizes assessment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and integration of nutrition into comprehensive athletic care.
