COM 236 - Health Communications:

This course will provide students with an overview of various areas or studies within the health communication field. Topics covered will be dictated by the needs/interests of the class, but may include health professional-patient communication, health journalism, media’s effects upon health, communication by non-profit health organizations/public health education campaigns, media training for healthcare professional, and how to be a consumer of health information media. This course can be taught as a service-learning course where students will receive hands-on experience by working with a community partner to assist them with their health communication needs.
