HIS 255 - Historical Biography The study of a prominent individual or individuals in order to understand not just their lives, but the issues and contexts with which they had to deal. The courses will also seek to understand the challenges which all people, not just historians, face in reconstructing past events and evaluating them. Some possible lives to study include: Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Florence Nightingale, or Queen Elizabeth I.
