LIT 254 - Textual Perspectives-Literature of Disability This course explores the connection between literary representation and disability. How does literature both perpetuate and challenge stereotypes of the disabled as abnormal, inform, or infantile? What kinds of bodies are deemed faulty? How is disability imagined or reimagined, and by whom? How do narratives about the disabled differ from narratives written by people with disabilities? This course fulfills the Human Diversity graduation requirement.
Prerequisites Sophomore standing or permission of the instructor. Credits: 3
