LIT 330 - English Renaissance Drama
This advanced course introduces students to early modern English drama exclusive of Shakespeare. Selected texts will span from the late Elizabethan period to the closure of the playhouses during the English Civil War. Playwrights covered may include Thomas Kyd, Christopher Marlowe, Robert Greene, George Peele, Thomas Middleton, Thomas Dekker, John Ford, Barnabe Barnes, John Fletcher, Francis Beaumont, John Marston, and Philip Massinger, among others. This course satisfied the British Literature component of the major. Pre-requisite: junior standing or permission of the instructor.
