SPE 420 - Secondary-age Students with Special Needs The course aims to foster awareness of how preparation for adult life drives instruction for individuals with disabilities ages 14-21. The role of family engagement and community resources for this special population is examined. In their field experience in the secondary special education classroom, students will plan and teach lessons related to secondary transition, including self-determination and pro-social skills. The course meets the Writing Enhanced graduation requirement.
