EE 371L - Electronics I Laboratory This lab introduces semiconductors and solid-state devices. Circuit models for the semiconductor diode. V-I characteristics and piecewise linear models of ideal and non-ideal diode. Zener diode and regulators. Fundamentals of bipolar junction transistors (BJT) include active, saturation, cut-off, edge of saturation, and edge of cut-off regions. Introduction to amplification and amplifiers. The laboratory focuses on computer aided design and simulation of various electronic devices using diodes, transistors, sensors, and amplifiers.
The laboratory assignments complement the lecture course, EE 300 , which must be taken as a prerequisite or concurrently.
