AMH 340 - Addictive Behaviors


This course focuses on addictive disorders that do not involve a substance or a chemical, commonly referred to as “behavioral addictions”. The neuroscience of behavioral addictions will be explored, and the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of these disorders will be examined from biological, psychological, and spiritual perspectives. The behavioral disorders examined in this course include gambling addiction, internet gaming and social media addictions, food addiction, sex and love addictions, nonsuicidal self-injury, work addiction, shopping addiction and exercise addiction.
