ME 271L - Strength of Materials Laboratory This laboratory course will introduce students to the data collection and analysis methods used to determine the mechanical responses of engineering materials. Student teams will learn and apply stress and strain measurement techniques; conduct tensile, torsion, bending, creep, internal pressurization, buckling, and fatigue tests; and characterize the mechanical behavior and material parameters obtained through experiment.
The laboratory assignments complement the lecture course, ME 201 , which must be taken as a prerequisite or concurrently.
