OT 513 - Advocacy & Public Policy This course focuses on the identification and analysis of those factors influencing change within occupational therapy and the promotion and development of leaders within the profession. Examines the needs, resources, policies and legislation affecting the occupational therapy profession at the regional, national, and global levels. Issues of reimbursement, measuring outcomes, developing partnerships, grant writing are presented. The role of the practitioner as an educator, advocate, and consultant with a central focus on occupation and its relationship to health are examined. OT majors only. Prerequisites: formal acceptance into the OT program or permission of the Program Director, Passing grade in OT 482 and OT 483 OR Passing grade in OT 587 and OT 589 . Offered: 5 yr-Spring; Entry Level-Fall
