HCS 330 - Healthcare Literacy and Advocacy

This course emphasizes scholarly research and writing skills to develop a mock grant healthcare literacy project proposal. National goals and implementation strategies for health literacy in contemporary society are explored and applied to a critical analysis of selected educational resources. Ethical issues surrounding social determinants of health and the barriers to healthcare literacy faced by underserved populations are integrated.
