HCS 400 - Healthcare Systems & Policy This course will introduce the basic principles of U.S. healthcare policy and law. The strengths and challenges that underpin the healthcare and public health systems will be examined. Public and private healthcare payment structures in the United States and selected international systems will be analyzed applying higher level inquiry skills. Students will learn how healthcare professionals practice within the context of policies and laws in the U.S. healthcare system while thinking systematically about issues and the various methods available to public and private policymakers to solve them.
