The Civil Engineering program at Alvernia University prepares students to design, build, and maintain the infrastructure that supports modern society. From bridges and roads to water systems and structural foundations, civil engineers play a critical role in shaping the built environment with a focus on safety, sustainability, and resilience.

Students in this program gain a strong foundation in mechanics, materials, fluid dynamics, and environmental systems. Core courses include surveying, structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics, and hydrology. Integrated lab experiences ensure students develop hands-on skills with industry-relevant tools and practices.

Through major electives, students can deepen their knowledge in areas such as concrete and steel design, preparing them for careers in construction, transportation, environmental consulting, public works, and beyond. Project management and ethical responsibility are emphasized throughout the curriculum to support leadership in diverse engineering settings.
