The Industrial Engineering Technology and Management (IETM) program bridges the gap between technical expertise and business acumen. Rooted in real-world learning and hands-on lab experiences, the curriculum ensures students gain a solid technical foundation while honing their design skills and understanding the intricacies of business decision-making. With a strong emphasis on engineering theory and practical design experience, coupled with a liberal arts education,  graduates are equipped with a holistic skill set that prepares them for the challenges of today’s workforce. Beyond technical prowess, the development of interpersonal skills, effective writing, and persuasive presentation – abilities-qualities highly valued by employers – are prioritized. By integrating engineering and business disciplines, the program cultivates well-rounded professionals who are not only adept problem solvers but also visionary leaders capable of driving innovation and sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

The Industrial Engineering Technology and Management program is offered jointly by the John R. Post School of Engineering and the Header School of Business. The first two semesters of the Industrial Engineering Technology and Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering majors are identical. Students have time to explore aspects of the different disciplines, take a variety of foundational courses, engage in introductory engineering and design courses, and talk to Faculty and upper-level students before deciding. A student does not need to choose a specific engineering discipline until registering for the third semester.
