ME 211 - Thermodynamics This course begins the exploration of the relationships between heat, work, energy, enthalpy, and entropy in various materials, volumes, and systems. Students will learn to apply the laws of thermodynamics to determine the unknown properties of various thermodynamic systems. They will also use these laws to predict future states of the thermodynamic system. The course will then move on to the analysis of several commonly-used components and students will learn how these components can be combined into cycles that are used to heat or cool a space or convert heat into useful energy.
