TEM 523 - IoT, Simulation, and Digital Twins

This course gives an overview of the Industry 4.0 concepts of the Internet of Things (IoT), Simulation, and Digital Twins. Students will learn about sensors, sensor arrays, and data acquisition with respect to IoT in the manufacturing environment. The focus will then shift to creating digital twins of processes and products to study potential improvements and track real products after leaving the factory. Finally, students will use popular simulation software (e.g., Arena, Simul8) to conduct simulations of processes and process improvement.
