NUR 220 - Nursing I:Adult Medical-Surgical Clients This course introduces the student to professional nursing practice. Students have the opportunity to apply the nursing process to adult clients who are experiencing medical-surgical health alterations. Concepts related to patient-centered care and safety are integrated. Students will be responsible to demonstrate critical thinking skills in implementing and evaluating appropriate nursing interventions. This course includes both scheduled and self-directed simulation experiences in addition to placement in clinical settings. Three classroom hours and eighty-four clinical practice hours.
Prerequisites
- BIO 220 , NUR 209 /NUR 209L , NUR 210
- Clinical requirements to include, but not limited to:
- Completed Health and Immunization Records, Professional CPR Certification, completed FBI clearance.
- Completed Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Criminal Record Check and Drug Screen.
- Students taking NUR 220 in the spring, may take BIO 220 with NUR 220, students taking NUR 220 in the summer must have completed BIO 220
