ART 220 - Ceramics Introductory course explores the fundamentals of hand-building techniques in ceramics, focusing on creating functional and sculptural pieces using clay. Students will learn various methods such as pinch pots, coil building, and slab construction, developing skills in shaping, texturing, and joining clay. Emphasis will be placed on the creative process, as students experiment with form, surface decoration, and glazing while gaining a foundational understanding of clay properties and firing processes. No prior ceramics experience is required.
